Bieber means business when it comes to self-promotion

If you are one of the many skeptics of 16-year-old Justin Beiber's talent, just watch this YouTube video. It's a video of him singing a cover of Chris Brown's song, "With You." I too was hesitant to get suckered into the realm of Beiber, but after seeing him post this video on his Facebook fan page, I realized he had true talent.

Bieber began his childhood as an ordinary boy, but he eventually taught himself how to play the piano, drums, guitar, and trumpet. After entering local singing competitions, his mom began posting his videos on YouTube. This is where the public relations strategies were implemented.

Bieber signed with Usher's record label, and his career has skyrocketed ever since. Bieber is currently on tour promoting his first album, but he keeps fans up to date through social media, especially Twitter.

Beiber tweets all day, every day. His tweets fill up my own personal Twitter homepage, and I can't help becoming engrossed with this child prodigy. Even as just a young kid, he knows how public relations techniques can be used to build a positve brand for himself.

He shows an appreciation for his fans that make them adore and appreciate him even more with each new post. "[I am] following some of the greatest fans in the world. U all got me here. U make it happen for me everyday. 1 word...grateful," tweeted Beiber last night.

Bieber has a Myspace page that is constantly updated and a widget that counts down to the start of his tour.

Luckily for all of the helpless girls that can't resist the temptations to fall under Bieber's spell, a membership to his official fan club only costs $8.99 a month. If you haven't already seen enough of him through social media, you'll be able to use your membership to adorn your walls with a Bieber poster and stickers. Then his public relations techniques will really have brought his name close to home.
